Thank you for using www.mikpappas.com and its affiliated websites (the “Site”). This privacy policy (“Policy”) applies to your use of the Site, products, and services (collectively, the “Services”) of our candidate’s political committee, Friends of Mik Pappas (“FMP”).

The purpose of the Policy is to inform you regarding how we collect and use information. Please read it carefully before using the Services or submitting any information to us. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, then you should stop using the Services, and kindly contact us regarding your concerns. Please know that we work hard to protect your privacy.

WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

  1. Usage/Login Information

We may collect usage information when you use the Services, primarily for the purpose of ensuring continuous improvement. This includes information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, operating system and browser type, the address of a referring website or a website to which you exit, the date and time you access or use the Services, items you click on, pages you view, and the amount of time you spend on particular pages.

  1. Cookies and Online Advertising

We may collect certain information (automatically) through the use of “cookies” and similar tracking technologies. Cookies are small data files that are stored on a user’s computer or device, at the request of a website, to enable that website to recognize previous visitors and retain information such as user preferences and history. If you wish to block, erase, or be warned of cookies, please refer to your browser instructions or “help screen” to learn about these functions. If your browner is set to not accept cookies, or if you reject a cookie, your ability to access the Sites and to use the Services may be limited.

We collect and store Personal Information that you provide to us when you are accessing the Site or using the Services. “Personal Information” means information relating to a person who is or can be identified directly from that information. This includes your name, address, telephone number, email address, and credit card or other account number. Examples of Personal Information we collect and store include information that you provide when you communicate with us or purchase any of the Services.

HOW DO WE USE THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT?

  1. Non-Personal Information

We may use information other than Personal Information for a variety of purposes including but not limited to administering the Services and gathering demographic information for aggregate use. Third party platforms such as Facebook or Stripe (our donation processing platform) may use this information for similar purposes. You should contact third parties and confirm their information collection and usage practices. We may freely publish, disclose, and use information other than Personal Information to and with third parties.

  1. Personal Information

We may use your Personal Information for a variety of purposes including but not limited to processing your requests or transactions, and for the purpose for which the information was provided. However, we do not disclose, rent, sell, or otherwise make available your Personal Information to third parties for direct marketing purposes.

  1. Third Party Service Providers

In the event that we engage with third party services providers in connection with the Services, we may share Personal Information with such third parties for the sole purpose of facilitating your use of the Services. For example, we may use credit card processing or verification companies to verify credit card information or to verify your identity. Otherwise, we do not share Personal Information with third parties except with your consent or in response to a request for information or subpoena.

REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION; DISCLOSURE FOR ENFORCEMENT PURPOSES

We may disclose Personal Information when we are required to or when we believe that doing so is appropriate for the purpose of complying with the law; to enforce or apply this Policy to our other policies or agreements; to collect amounts owed to us; to protect our or our users’ rights, property, or safety; or in other emergency circumstances that we believe justify such disclosure.

SECURITY MEASURES

We endeavor to protect your Personal Information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure by putting into place reasonable physical, electronic, and managerial procedures that are designed to safeguard the information we collect. For example, our Technology Director is the custodian of Personal Information, and may disclose Personal Information only with members of FMP that have executed a Confidentiality Agreement, with third parties that have agreed to keep your Personal Information confidential, or with third parties that have privacy policies that are reasonably consistent with this Policy. In addition, we use a use a secure server with SSL encryption software for the purpose of protecting the Site and your Personal Information.  

THIRD PARTY WEBSITES AND PRACTICES

The Services may contain links to other websites or make available third party services. We will endeavor to ensure any such third parties have privacy policies that are reasonably consistent with this Policy, but we are not responsible for the privacy practices of such third parties. This Policy applies solely to information collected by us.

CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

Children are not permitted to use the Services and we do not knowingly collect the Personal Information of anyone under the age of 13. If we learn that we have collected Personal Information from a child under the age of 13, we will remove that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that we might have any information from or about a child under 13, please contact us by the contact information listed below.

CHANGES TO THE POLICY

We may change the provisions of this policy at any time. We will always post the most up-to-date version on the Site. If we determine, in our sole discretion, that a modification of this Policy materially affects your rights, we will endeavor to notify you of said modification.
